Privacy & Cookie Statement - 23rd June 2026
This site is operated by Kip Erev ("I", "me", "my"). I'm committed to protecting your privacy and handling any personal information you share with care. This page explains what I collect, why, and what your rights are. It is written to reflect UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and the rules on cookies (PECR).
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for this website is Kip Erev, based in Sussex, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about your data, you can contact me at kip@kiperevtherapy.co.uk .
What I collect, and why
I only collect what I need to respond to you and to run this website.
Contact form: when you get in touch through the form, I collect your name, email address, and anything you choose to write in your message. I use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to stay in touch about that work.
Email: if you email me directly, I'll hold your message and contact details for the same purposes.
Website analytics: this site uses Squarespace's built-in analytics, which collect anonymised, aggregated information about how visitors use the site (such as pages viewed and general location). This helps me understand what's useful. It does not identify you personally.
Sensitive information
Therapy sessions are confidential, so anything discussed or made in sessions remains private between us. The only exception to this is if I have to make a safeguarding referral – I would do this if I was concerned you were in danger or were endangering someone else. I would tell you if I ever had to do this, if possible.
Art therapists are required to attend clinical supervision as part of best professional practice, which requires me to discuss my workload with my supervisor. I will always do this in a way that respects clients’ privacy. Supervisors are experienced clinicians who are knowledgeable about respecting confidentiality.
I record clinical notes to abide by professional standards. I do this in a way that protects your anonymity, records the minimum information required, and is stored securely in an encrypted document. I store notes for 6 years after finishing working with a client. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office to abide carefully by GDPR requirements. I do not use AI to support any of my note taking.
We can discuss confidentiality and safeguarding at any point.
The legal basis for using your data
When you contact me, I rely on your consent and on my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and providing my services. Where we enter into a working arrangement, I process your data to perform that agreement. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Who I share it with
I don't sell your data, and I don't share it for marketing. Your information may be handled by trusted service providers who help run the website and my email — principally:
Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes contact form submissions and analytics on my behalf.
Google, through which I receive and store messages.
These providers act on my instructions and have their own privacy protections in place. Occasionally I may need to share information if required by law.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry information only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and, where relevant, for the duration of our working relationship plus six years. If we don't go on to work together, I'll delete your enquiry when it's no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
ask me to correct anything that's wrong;
ask me to delete your data, or to stop using it;
withdraw consent at any time;
complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how your data has been handled — see ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these, just email me at kip@kiperevtherapy.co.uk .
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. This site uses a small number, mainly through Squarespace:
Essential cookies that allow the site to function and keep it secure. These can't be switched off.
Analytics cookies that help me understand how the site is used, in an anonymised way.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and you can refuse non-essential cookies via the cookie banner when you first visit. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. For full detail on the cookies Squarespace uses, see Squarespace's own cookie policy.
